Packages and Fees
Casa offers parents multiple choices of student packages: the Basic package, the Total package, or the Basic+ package. All packages fully comply with the mandatory Dutch regulation of 940 school hours per year. Please find a list below detailing the prices of the three different packages Casa offers.
Types of Packages
Total Package
The total package consists of the annual minimum requirement of 940 teaching hours per child, but this package also provides the flexibility for children to benefit from even more time in school than required by law.
In addition to the five regular education days until 2pm, parents can choose whether their child attends school for two to five days per week until 6pm at the latest. In addition, all children have free walk-in between 8am and 8.30am in the morning and can take flexible holidays in addition to the days off set by Casa.
In order to demonstrate to the Education Inspectorate and the Compulsory Education Officer that the minimum of 940 teaching hours is met, all children and their attendance times are registered in the school administration systems.
Advantages of the Total Package
Proper, complete Montessori-style education as envisaged by Dr. Maria Montessori is only possible when children are present in school for longer periods of time. There is no arbitrary split between school and day care in the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy. Pupils who take the total package enjoy “enriched care” during the holidays. In principle, this means that our school programme continues during the holidays. However, these hours do not count as official school hours.
Basic Package
Children with a basic package can drop in from 8am. School starts at 8.30 am and ends at 2 pm. Children therefore have classes for five equal days. Pijnacker’s regular school holidays apply. You will find the holiday schedule at the bottom of this page.
Basic+ Package
Finally, there is an in-between option: the NSO package. This package is equal to the basic package, supplemented by two to five afternoons of after-school care. No NSO can be taken during regular school holidays.
How does our Pricing work?
Casa’s rates depend on the age of the child (up to three years [Toddlers], from three to four [3-year-olds] and from four years and above) and the package to be purchased.
Childcare Costs:
Toddlers and three-year-olds
Childcare prices for toddlers and three-year-olds depend on the number of days to be taken per week. The cost corresponds to the cost of a regular day care. Parental contribution, food and drinks, outings and parties are included. It is possible to make a combination of (a) short and (or) long day(s). See the price list at the top of the page, which includes the hourly price of childcare.
N.B. Casa works with parts of the day and not with hours of care.
Childcare Price (BSO):
From four to 12 years of age
Childcare rates for children aged four and older depend on the package you choose. For this, see the price list at the top of the page. Please note: these are gross rates, without government childcare allowance.
All rates are spread over twelve months and must be paid in advance (by direct debit). For hourly childcare rates, please refer to the price lists.
Voluntary parental contribution
Casa asks parents for a voluntary parental contribution. This contribution is set annually with the approval of the participation council. The parental contribution is voluntary. Students will in no case be excluded from participating in activities paid for from the parental contribution.
The voluntary parental contribution is € 1164 per year for four- to 12-year-olds.
Without this voluntary parental contribution, Casa would not be able to carry out the concept Casa stands for.
For toddlers and three-year-olds, this voluntary parental contribution does not apply.
The parental contribution pays for snacks, lunch and all non-government-subsidised activities and materials. These include outings, such as visits to museums, the work week, English-language materials and (partly) English-speaking guides, nature education, holiday celebrations, furnishing the library and extra projects guided by external specialists.
Hourly calculation
For all packages (except toddlers), the hours we calculate with are:

- Afternoons: 4 hours – from 14.00 to 18.00 (extra after school daycare, this is only possible if your child has been present from 08.00 to 14.00 on the same day; prices for this will be calculated and billed retroactively)
For our toddlers, the hours are as follows:
