Visiting Casa
Casa offers three types of visiting opportunities
For each of these categories specific guidelines apply. Please be sure to read all the guidelines carefully before making your request.
Please note: taking photos that include our children is not permitted at any time during your visit.
Overview of Visiting days
Our information events are planned with parents in mind.
During these mornings, Tessa Wessels provides an overview of Casa and offers the opportunity for our visitors to see certain areas as dictated by the event, as well as ask questions.
Please be aware that if you sign up for an event and there are not enough people attending, we will alert you the week before that it will not go through and recommend another date.
In 2023 we will begin with alternating the primary language for each information morning. You will see via the list of dates on this page which language each session will take place in. EN = English. NL = Dutch.
Important: It is NOT advised to bring your children with you to these events.

What do we do with the money we receive for these visits?
The fee we receive is used to organise individual trips, independently organised by children of the Lower and Upper Elementary.
How would we like to receive the fee?
When the arrangements are made, we will provide you with an invoice form that includes all the details of how to pay. We request that you pay in advance digitally, or bring the exact amount with you on the day of your visit. Please indicate in advance which method of payment you will be using.
Request form for professional and inspirational visits
Update January 2026: Due to a high volume of requests, we are unable to accept any more requests for observations or teaching practices until June 2026.
Casa receives a high number of requests each year for observations and teaching practice placements. Please note that spaces are limited, and we carefully review every request to ensure it aligns with who we are and how we work.
Please read the guidelines below so that you will be well informed when you make your request.
To make a request for observations or teaching practices, please complete the form below.
General Requirements (Observations & Practice)
All applicants must include a short motivation letter or paragraph explaining:
- Why you want to come to Casa specifically
- What you understand about Casa and our educational approach
- How this visit or practice fits into your professional development
Applications without a clear motivation will not be considered.
Priority Placement
Requests are reviewed and accepted based on the following priority order:
- First priority
Participants currently enrolled in AMI or other recognised Montessori training programmes. - Second priority
Local applicants with DigiD, particularly for placements connected to Childcare/kinderopvang (ages 0-3) and after school or holiday periods. - Additional requests
Applicants outside the above categories will only be considered if space is available and if they have clearly demonstrated why they wish to come to Casa specifically and how this aligns with our vision and practice.
Teaching Practice Placements
For teaching practice placements, a formal motivation letter is required.
This should be treated as a job application, and must clearly address:
- Your goal and purpose for the teaching practice
- What you hope to learn and develop during your time at Casa
- How your goals and educational values align with Casa’s Montessori approach
Only applications that demonstrate a strong and thoughtful alignment with Casa will be considered.
One day Observations
- VOG is not needed for single observations shorter than 3 hours
- Payment is required in advance for professional development observations. Invoices will be provided immediately after confirmation. Please be sure to provide your address to facilitate this process.
- Observers are instructed to be as unobtrusive as possible. Refrain from communicating with the children more than is necessary, and remain in the seat as indicated by the guides. If the children come to you often with questions, answer succinctly and redirect them back to their work.
Multiple day / Week long Observations & Teaching Practices
- VOG is required (specifically for Kinderopvang 84/86 if the observation takes place after 14:00 or during a school vacation period). Links to apply if you are not living in the Netherlands, or if you are living in the Netherlands. Casa does not pay for the VOG.
- We cannot guarantee that an AMI guide will be present 100% of the time throughout a week due to their differing schedules. If you are participating in an AMI course, we can guarantee that you will be placed in a classroom with an AMI guide who will sign off on your paperwork.
