Visiting Casa
Casa offers three types of visiting opportunities
1. Information mornings for parents
2. Inspirational and informative visits for professionals
3. Observations and teaching practices for student teachers
For each of these categories specific guidelines apply. Please be sure to read all the guidelines carefully before making your request.
Overview of Visiting days
Our information events are planned with parents in mind.
During these mornings, Tessa Wessels provides an overview of Casa and offers the opportunity for our visitors to see certain areas as dictated by the event, as well as ask questions.
Please be aware that if you sign up for an event and there are not enough people attending, we will alert you the week before that it will not go through and recommend another date.
In 2023 we will begin with alternating the primary language for each information morning. You will see via the list of dates on this page which language each session will take place in. EN = English. NL = Dutch.
Important: It is NOT advised to bring your children with you to these events.

What do we do with the money we receive for these visits?
The fee we receive is used to organise individual trips, independently organised by children of the Lower and Upper Elementary.
How would we like to receive the fee?
When the arrangements are made, we will provide you with an invoice form that includes all the details of how to pay. We request that you pay in advance digitally, or bring the exact amount with you on the day of your visit. Please indicate in advance which method of payment you will be using.
Request form for professional and inspirational visits
Due to high demand for placements for observations and teaching practices, we refined our guidelines for these.
Please read the guidelines before so that you will be well informed when you make your request.
To make a request for observations or teaching practices, please complete the form below.
One/Two day Observations
- VOG is not needed for single observations shorter than 3 hours
- Payment is required in advance for professional development observations. Invoices will be provided immediately after confirmation. Please be sure to provide your address to facilitate this process.
- Observers are instructed to be as unobtrusive as possible. Refrain from communicating with the children more than is necessary, and remain in the seat as indicated by the guides. If the children come to you often with questions, answer succinctly and redirect them back to their work.
Week long Observations
- VOG is required. Links to apply if you are not living in the Netherlands, or if you are living in the Netherlands. Casa does not pay for the VOG.
- We cannot guarantee that an AMI guide will be present 100% of the time throughout a week due to their differing schedules. If you are participating in an AMI course, we can guarantee that you will be placed in a classroom with an AMI guide who will sign off on your paperwork.
Teaching Practices
- VOG is required. Links to apply if you are not living in the Netherlands, or if you are living in the Netherlands. Casa does not pay for the VOG.
- We cannot guarantee that an AMI guide will be present 100% of the time throughout a week due to their differing schedules. If you are participating in an AMI course, we can guarantee that you will be placed in a classroom with an AMI guide who will be your mentor and will sign off on your paperwork.
- Compensation for the mentor guide should be provided. We recommend a 50 euro gift certificate/card.
- Each mentor guide is able to provide a maximum of 4 teaching placements per year.
Limitations for all requests
- No observations or practices will be planned during the months of April (for Children’s House only), July, August, and December. These times of year are particularly busy and difficult for our mentors to spare the time.
- Any placements are first come, first serve, and are dependent on the schedules of the classroom guides.
- Forms and guidelines from the educational program must be provided at least 1 week in advance.
- Remember to bring inside shoes or slippers.
