Pupils bury time capsule at new school building
Friday 6 October was a celebration at the construction site on Groen van Prinstererlaan in Pijnacker Noord. Pupils and staff of Casaschool and child centre Schatkaart celebrated the start of the construction of their new school building.
Casa is the first AMI primary school in the Netherlands and is officially an ‘excellent’ school according to the Dutch inspectorate of education!
Casa is a special school, - a dream school. Casa's excellence profile is 'Self-directed within a broadly-oriented environment'. The children are immersed in a fully English and fully Dutch learning environment, they eat hot organic and vegetarian food daily. From the age of 6, children cook for themselves with the support of cooks. And due to the fact that Casa is open all year round (as childcare and school are integrated), parents also have the flexibility to take holidays during the school year, rather than the high season without losing educational quality.
What does the jury look for in order to give a school the ‘excellent’ designation?
They look at:
- Excellence profile,
- Goals,
- Approach,
- Quality assurance (measurable and noticeable results, evaluation and assurance),
- External focus and knowledge sharing.
